Barclay Lake--For Northerners
This is a fun one, even when lightly sprinkling. At the end of your journey there is beautiful serene Barclay Lake to splash around in. Look up and see you are smack between Mount Baring and Merchant Peak. I get hot quickly and this is a cool hike in the old growth forest. It's an easy out-and-back trail with less than 300 ft gain and about 4miles roundtrip. Easy on doggy paws.
Twin Falls--For Southerners.
Easy hike and great for little peoples too! Way more crowded than Barclay Lake. Around 3miles round trip I think and some 500ft gain. There are easy switchbacks and great views of the South Fork Snoqualmie River. Or check out the many options on Tiger Mountain. We did this.
Discovery Park--For inbetweeners
